We cordially invite you to an evening of connection, collaboration,
and inspiration in support of our mission
May 17… join us
Join us for an enchanting evening under the stars as we mark our 15th anniversary. Our evening begins at 5:00 PM with an exclusive cocktail reception for our benefactor donors, featuring tray-passed hors d'oeuvres and signature cocktails. Seating will begin at 6:45 PM and guests will enjoy a seated, plated dinner starting promptly at 7:00 PM. We will honor two extraordinary recipients with the Open Hearts Award, experience a special performance by an acclaimed artist, and unveil our transformative therapeutic arts program. Additionally, there will be an opportunity to participate in a live auction, with all proceeds supporting our mission.
Your presence would mean the world to us. Together, let's celebrate the impact we've made and the hope we continue to bring.
We invite you to be a part of a night filled with meaning and purpose.

Open Hearts Humanitarian Award Honoree
Henry Gluck
Henry Gluck joined Monogram Industries in the 1950s, becoming president from 1969 to 1972. He later served as chairman and CEO of Caesars World, transforming Caesars Palace and expanding the company's presence in Lake Tahoe and Windsor, Ontario. His philanthropic efforts are heartfelt, including his roles on the National Council of the Salk Institute, the board of trustees of the City of Hope, and the Board of Advisors of the Ronald Reagan UCLA Medical Center, where he has been chairman since 2009. He is a major donor to the Los Angeles Philharmonic and Veterans Park Conservancy. In 2017, he launched California's first mobile stroke unit as part of the UCLA Health MSU program, which provides rapid diagnosis and treatment in stroke emergencies. This initiative, supported by the County Board of Supervisors and L.A. County Emergency Medical Services, collaborates with six fire departments to offer 12-hour coverage, six days a week.
Open Hearts Award Honoree
Avery Colvert
Founder of Altadena Girls, was class president and student activities coordinator at Elliot Arts Magnet in Altadena. When a devastating fire struck, the remarkable 14-year-old immediately sprang into action, organizing a clothing drive and collecting beauty products and essential items for girls in need. Avery never imagined her recovery fund for the teenage victims of the Eaton Fire, one of multiple blazes raging in Los Angeles County, would go viral. Yet, within 24 hours, it did just that, with Paris Hilton, Mindy Kaling and other celebrities sharing "Altadena Girls" on their Instagram stories. Avery embodies the true spirit of the open hearts philosophy, passed down by Mieke to Jane and her sisters during their own challenging times. This philosophy encourages looking within to find unique ways to help others. But Avery's vision goes beyond immediate relief; she dreams of creating a dedicated space where girls can grow, connect, and heal. Her unwavering determination to turn short-term aid into lasting change is a powerful reminder of the impact one person can make. Avery's inspiring efforts call on all of us to step up and support our communities in times of crisis.
