Our Board members are volunteers who champion the Open Hearts Philosophy in their personal and professional circles and share the Foundation’s values of working and serving together with like-minded people for the greater good.
As leaders, we prioritize the organization’s overall goals and work together in a collaborative, fun, and innovative environment with a keen eye on the art of the possible.
Our Board of Directors are and seek new directors of diverse gender, race, and ethnicity, along with varied skills, perspectives, and experiences, that will contribute to a balanced and effective Board -- one that is well-positioned to address the changing needs of the organization and the communities we serve.

Mark is the President of Ebling Holding Company, Inc., with over 30 years of experience focused on developing consumer product businesses.
Jane Inch
Board Member
Jane Inch is a certified Life Coach and integrally involved in her family’s global packaging business, Transpak. Jane is dedicated to service and has been involved with several Bay Area non-profit charities serving as a board member and Chair of numerous fundraising events.
Julie Scanlon
Board Member
Julie's career focused on the not-for-profit senior living industry, with an extensive background in policymaking, legislative affairs and funding of key public policy initiatives. She now holds leadership roles in a variety of non-profit and community organizations.
Julie Gallo Vander Wall

Julie Gallo Vander Wall is with E. & J. Gallo Winery, and serves on the Board of Directors of G3 Enterprises, both family-owned companies. She has served on numerous nonprofit boards, and is actively involved with family and her community.
Jane Seymour

A multiple Emmy and Golden Globe winner, recipient of the Officer of the British Empire (OBE) in the year 2000. Jane’s Open Heart design symbolizes love that flows unconditionally.
Trena Pitchford
Executive Director
Trena Pitchford's experience spans both for-profit and for-purpose work. For more than 26 years, she has helped small and large for-purpose organizations further their mission. Her tenure with the Open Hearts Foundation began in October 2019. Previously, Trena served as the Executive Director of the Burbank Arts for All Foundation for eight years. Read more >
Tim Mallad
BOARD CHAIR
Tim Mallad is the CEO of Presbyterian Communities and Services, now Forefront Living. With thirty-two years of experience, his tenure includes the oversight and opening of 15 retirement communities. Tim specializes in the creation, development, personnel training, and management of continuing care facilities.

Rich is President of R.N. Gold & Company, a management consulting firm specializing in strategic planning and marketing, working in both the public and private sectors domestically and internationally. He serves on several not-for-profit and corporate boards of directors and advisory boards.
